New Years

We spent New Years Eve day at the Sedgwick County Zoo here in Wichita (Wednesday $2 day : ) It was pretty near freezing, and many of the animals were nowhere to be seen, but my $2 was well spent just seeing the newborn giraffe! She was SOOO cute!
All bundled up and ready to go!
Hold on Caedmon!

Addi liked the mama and baby lions

It's a kitty Caedmon, not a horse!

Jess, this one's for you : )
A shot of our New Year's gang

Ti, this video is for you : )

so who's the crew? Looks like you had a secret family already waiting for you in Wichita? :)

Are you guys all settled and is it starting to feel like home?

  2. i think we did have a family waiting for us here in wichita : ) the girls with us are our pastor's daughters - they moved here 3 years ago from south africa to plant a church, so they don't have any family here either. basically they have become our family : )

i think we are all settled in finally - just last week we finished off our "to do" list of things to accomplish in order to officially become full-fledged kansans (transfer insurance, register car, drivers licenses, la la la, you know all that annoying stuff). i know - it took 6 months. i think i may have been dragging my feet a bit : )

  3. I'm so glad you've made friends. It makes such a big difference in the way you feel about where you live once you've got a good friend to do things with. Kind of fills the family void don't you think?

  4. Randi,
I love those ducks. They remind of Mozart. The baby giraffe is also so cute. I so wish that we lived closer to a zoo.

It looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I am glad you are feeling more settled.

  6. yeah, there was a brand new one (did you see her umbilical cord was still attached), and there was another smallish one that i'm assuming was the last baby. there was also another little bit larger giraffe, then a mama and a bull. he was HUGE!
