Every night for the last week while tucking Caedmon into bed, he's asked us to stay in his room to have a sleepover. He was just so cute and sincere about it that we couldn't stand telling him no again, and so it was decided that Friday would be Caedmon's sleepover. We left all the planning up to him - what we should do, what we should eat, where we should sleep, etc. This is what he came up with: off to see Madagascar 2 with dad when he got off work, back home for some pizza takeout, Krispy Kreams for dessert, got the little sister off to bed and then played some Supermario Brothers 3 on the Wii with mom and dad, 102 Dalmations on the laptop as we tried to fall asleep on the living room floor, and finally somewhere around 11:30 he decided he was tired and his bed sounded good afterall. So, at the end of the day we were tucking him into his own bed, alone, without any talk about sleeping over - I guess it was probably more the one on one time he was really after : ) At any rate we all had a lot of fun - sometimes it's nice to be reminded what it's like to be a kid again and just stop counting fat and sugar, or watching the clock, or doing what is practical and just live in the moment.
Oh, and here's a couple shots of Addi just because she's cute : )
It's just not fair how much hair that girl has!
ReplyDeleteYsa's favorite thing to do is have sleepovers. We "camped" in the living room last year- we tried to sleep on the floor but it was too uncomfortable, so we dragged our mattress out of our room and all (sans Ros) slept on it. Now, she "sleeps over" in our bedroom about once every weekend. She sleeps on the couch in our bedroom and we get our comfy bed. Works for everyone. Trav once didn't want to do it, and I quickly reminded him it won't be long before she won't want to hang out with us!
She is memorizing a cd of Bible verses in order to earn a "camp-out" in the living room. We have a fireplace, so we make s'mores and play games and watch movies. We're so blessed to be moms!
well, he's a pretty lucky guy.....mine havn't caught on to this type of adventure yet....Addi is adorable....I think I have some darling bows that would look pretty cute in her hair.....send me your email Randi and I will mail you some :)
ReplyDeleteBecky is right about her bows. They are really cute.
ReplyDeleteOur girls have never asked us to join them, but that could be because we still have nightly interviews with them and one or the other ends up in our bed for a period of time.
I am not sure I can remember the last night the girls were home that I was able to sleep through the night.
That looks like a lot of fun. Tell Caedmon we will plan a sleepover in our living room when you come to visit, but Aunt Jess and the baby will probably end up upstairs in their beds. Bailee, Sam, and Mak will definitely join him.
