okay guys, i'm sorry about the downer posts lately and i really hope this is the last, but i believe in the power of prayer and i know many of you who read this blog are prayer warriors. unfortunately, i know of a family who desperately needs you to cry out on their behalf right now...
about a week ago i randomly came across the McClenahan's blog through a button on another blog i read regularly, and coincidentally it turned out that this family was in wichita, so i kind of got interested. as it turned out, their 11 month old daughter, sweet Cora, was in one of our hospitals fighting for her life. in a matter of 2 weeks this family went from having a seemingly healthy, perfect, chubby, adorable little baby girl, to discovering she had stage 4 cancer, to grieving her loss. Cora died sunday, and her burial is actually happening as i write this. this family is literally walking through the valley of the shadow of death, and i want to ask you to get involved. the bible instructs us to rejoice with those who rejoice and to mourn with those who mourn. go read their blog at http://themcclenahans.blogspot.com/ and read their story, look at this baby girl's perfect little face and the faces of her parents. get this family into your mind and heart, and join me in undergirding them with our prayers as they grieve and try to continue on in this life without their baby girl. i can't even imagine what it would be like to lose your 11 month old girl - you are with her night and day, most of your day is scheduled around her needs, if you are nursing there's that round the clock reminder that you need to have her near, she has toys and food and equipment all over your house and your car, and basically you have forgot what life was like before having her... i can't even imagine. oh Lord Jesus, help them.
That is such a coincidence that you mention that because I just happened across her blog this morning. What an awful thing to happen and it's a reminder how much I take for granted every day. They need God's grace so much right now.
ReplyDeleteI just found their blog two days ago through another blog I read. I have a feeling we're reading the same blog! Their story really touched me and I feel such grief for them. Please pray for Tiffiny Mackey as well. Her father died last Friday very unexpectedly. Just knowing people are praying can make such a difference for those who are in mourning.
