Please Pray

Many families, including our own, find themselves in a pretty scary place today, knowing that tomorrow Hawker Beechcraft is going to join the many other employers in Wichita who have already made major layoffs, and let go of 2,300 employees. I can really easily get myself into a bit of a FREAK OUT! just thinking about what we will do if Jake is one of the unlucky ones... I've had a knot in my stomach most of this week, and the only time I find peace is when I just turn my back on all of it and bury myself in the presence of Jesus. Reading in Mark yesterday I read the story of Jairus, and it really spoke to me. Jairus was in a place where he was seeing the physical signs that something bad was imminent/death was impending, and this was further being confirmed by bad reports from others. Jairus went and sought out Jesus, fell at his feet, and implored Him earnestly. And what did Jesus say? "Do not be afraid any longer, only keep on believing." I know this is what God is saying to us right now, and whatever happens, I guess this is my prayer request - that no matter what tomorrow brings we would keep on trusting and believing, and that His will would be done and He would be glorified in our lives. There are so many families here in Wichita being effected by layoffs, and I'm sure not all of them have the hope that we are holding fast to. Please pray for God to be the answer for these people during such a scary time, and that God would use Jake and I in the lives of these families in whatever way He can. Thanks everyone!
